Durability testing
Even today, durability or endurance test runs on proving grounds and public roads are an indispensable part of vehicle testing in order to validate design changes prior to series production on the basis of a realistic load. Both, complete vehicles and individual components such as engines or transmission are tested in otherwise close-to-series prototypes.
DURAsmart is a new telematics product from mm-lab in which the experiences from proving ground management and special fleet management are combined. As an extension module of the Proving Ground Management System (PGMS), the Durability Test Guidance has already been implemented. With extended functionality and for use independent of PGMS, mm-lab has developed DURAsmart to also support vehicle durability runs on public roads and proving grounds.
Benefits
The system improves the efficiency of durability tests by replacing printed and manually executed test instructions with an end-to-end telematics solution. It supports the complete process from test specification and design to execution and documentation. In addition, data can be collected automatically, e. g. distances driven or counting of repetition sequences, until the driver is signaled to have reached the desired target.
DURAsmart offers the same advantages as PGMS: seamless process chain from planning and test execution to documentation and billing, modular structure, high flexibility customizing to customer-specific requirements. Specific modules can be developed and integrated to customer requirements.
