mm-lab´s news

Kornwestheim, 2019/12/17.

Last week the Dutch broadcaster NOS was a guest at our premises. The subject of the broadcast format similar to the German ARD Tagesschau was the exemplary treatment and promotion of foreign employees at mm-lab GmbH. In addition, the positive aspects of the IT skills shortage in Baden-Württemberg and the "Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz" were discussed. The new law is due to enter into force on 1 March 2020 and, according to www.bundesregierung.de, will help to meet German needs with qualified skilled employees from third countries.

The NOS Deutschland correspondent was able to talk to our managing director Andreas Streit and to our colleague Ahmed Jaber about the positive experiences, as well as the obstacles that foreign employees and German companies have to overcome in their employment relationship in the country.

We are pleased about the order we have won for the publicly tendered Proving Ground Management System (PGMS) of Aldenhoven Testing Center (ATC). The complete system solution of mm-lab GmbH will support ATC in the future in the effective execution of operational and economic concerns. Our developers are currently adapting and configuring the software solution in order to adapt it to the individual, local conditions.

PGMS will be commissioned shortly after the turn of the year. The test drivers there will benefit especially from our collision awareness system CAVE!, which ensures an increased driver safety on the test area.

The next level has been reached: mm-lab is in the second competition stage of the "Großer Preis des Mittelstandes 2019", a famous award for small and medium-sized companies. For the first step, a total of 5,399 companies were nominated nationwide. Of these, 758 companies climbed to the second, penultimate competition stage. The finalists from all 16 federal states selected by the twelve regional juries will be honored in autumn 2019. The prize will be awarded for the 25th time this year. As the sustainable management of our customers is already supported by our services in their planning phase, the competition topic of this year "Sustainable Economic" fits perfectly with our telematics solutions and engineering services.

The goal of this honorarily organized competition of the “Oskar Patzelt Foundation” is to promote corporate responsibility. The special attention of the jury lies in the consideration of the criteria "overall development of the company", "creation of work and training places", as well as in "modernization and innovation". In addition, the focus is also on "commitment in the region" and the topics "service, customer proximity and marketing".

In November 2018, we were honored for our product innovation CAVE! by the State of Baden-Württemberg as part of the awarding of the Innovation Prize. Therefore, it is a special pleasure for us, that the appreciation of the "Großer Preis des Mittelstandes" also confirms our actions in our overall entrepreneurial performance.

By participating in the manager training program of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, mm-lab is expanding its network with foreign companies. The training supports executives from small and medium-sized companies in the partner countries, who can exchange technical and factual information on site with German companies in the region.

The four-week training program for managers is initiated by the German Association for International Cooperation (GIZ), since 2019 in cooperation with the IHK Region Stuttgart. The aim of the program is, in addition to economic development, the promotion of intercultural competences and the identification of opportunities for cooperation. mm-lab participates for the first time in the program. In Kornwestheim, we presented our products and explained interesting facts about the field of telematics and our innovations, which we develop. The Mexican guests were particularly interested in the collision awareness system, which received recognition at the award ceremony of the Innovation Award of the State of Baden-Württemberg in November 2018. More intensive discussions took place between the companies in the IT sector, with whom the contact details were exchanged.
