Your customers on the proving ground rely on you. They are able to do so since they are at all time well informed, about that what happens on the proving ground. And they know that you will apply the necessary measures derived from the information using the monitoring application of the PGMS. The result is an increased safety for the test execution.

A central part of the application is the registration of the traffic situation on the proving ground via the onboard units, which are mounted to all vehicles operated on the proving ground. The position, speed and other information collected by the onboard units is transmitted in real-time and combined into a traffic situation display for the proving ground operator. The safety on the proving ground is established by the means of traffic and behavioral rules. All of them are configurable by the proving ground administration. Critical situations can thereby be detected automatically resulting in immediate alarms broadcasted to the driver(s) and the operator.

The application supports and automates the processes and tasks of the operator:

  • Who is where on the proving ground?
  • Which engine types are operated currently on the driving dynamics area?
  • Are there any situations relevant to security and can countermeasures be enforced immediately?
  • Which driver is responsible for the violation of a traffic rule e.g. on the high speed oval?
  • Can I call the driver immediately when he violates a behavioral rule?
  • Can I find out, which driver has spilled oil on the exit of the rough road?
  • Can I adjust or disable traffic rules temporarily, e.g. swap the driving direction on the high speed track, no stopping area or speed limits?

Certainly all questions relevant for a driver are answered as well. They are audio-visually presented to the driver automatically and they can be recalled at any point in time:

  • Which traffic rules are applicable on the test module I’m driving on?
  • Am I informed in case of violation of the defined traffic rules e.g. by means of signals or announcements?

The application offers of cause the means of configuration to the administrator. It enables him to define new traffic rules for single test modules or the complete test module area. The administrator is able to statistically evaluate safety violations previously registered, e.g. to modify and adjust the alarm configurations. He is also able to put a new test module into operation and adding it to the safety architecture of the PGMS.
